White Table

I failed at my first attempt at a white table. I had joked with Kathleen that this table would make my brain hurt.  It did.. It didn't help that I read the rules incorrectly. So as I was getting ready to link up today, I reread the rules and redid my table. You can see my first attempt further down below.

I like white as an accent to my colorful Fiesta. I like how it looks on other people's tables. It is odd for me to see it on my table but I was up for the challenge and I was able to get it done. So a tiny victory for me. YAY!
The plates that I used as chargers are a thrifty find that are marked Made for Federated Department Stores. The napkin rings were found at Kmart but they were sold as ornaments. They are a different style. I liked them and knew I would use them for this purpose. Of course, there is White Fiesta on the table. Would you expect there not to be?

There you have a white table from the gal who loves color. Thanks to Kathleen for hosting Let's Dish. Be sure to check out everyone's table.

PS: Here is my first attempt.

Two Tables

Since I showed my friend's table last week, I  didn't post what was on my table. So I will show it off with this weeks.  It was rather plain. I didn't get very inspired. It started with the napkins and wanting to use Lapis again.  Aside from Lapis, there is White, Yellow, Scarlet and Lemongrass.

So this week, I used my new to me tablecloth that my friend Ruby gave me for my birthday! We hadn't seen each in months and we only had a few minutes but it was good to see her.
The Fiesta colors are Lapis, Marigold and Shamrock.  My tureen needed some attention so I brought it out as the centerpiece.

We had pancakes for breakfast on Sunday. Hubs makes me extra for the rest of the week.
I hope you are having a good week.

Coca-Cola Table

I have been telling my best friend that I have wanted to set a table with some of her dishes. I went to her house last week and she just cleared her table off and went to work on a tablescape. I hope to set a couple more with her other sets of Coca-Cola dishes. My friend collects Coco-Cola like I collect Fiesta.
It was spur of the moment table and we didn't have linens. She just took out the fondue pot. I used one of her mini tables to sit it on.
The coke bottles to the left are salt & pepper shakers.

The white  bottles are also salt & pepper shakers.

I just love the faces on these dishes.
I hope you enjoyed a break from the Fiesta dishes. My mind is working on another table with my dishes and also with my friend's collection.

Stripes and Fiesta

Do you ever get stumped on your post title? I do. Most of my posts are about my table so unless there is theme or holiday, I have a hard time naming the post.  I was looking back at my titles and I seem to like to add Fiesta to the title. I thought I had named several with the word stripe but I could only find two. So there is my title for today. Silly I know.
On to the table.
My friend gave me the cloth and napkins for Christmas.  She came by the week of Thanksgiving on her way to her home town of Roswell, NM.  So it was an early gift.  I used the cloth the next day for breakfast but there was no time for pictures.
I had been wanting to use it again and when I found these napkin rings yesterday, I knew it was time to bring it out again. The Fiesta colors are Peacock, Lemongrass, Scarlet and Tangerine.

Here is the closer look at the Fiesta heart bowl. There are two sizes now. This is the larger size. A friend and I were talking this morning that we wish we had these bowls in every color.

I hope you are all staying cool in the heat and that you have a great week!

4th of July 2013

I had been looking forward to setting this table since I purchased the tablecloth. I had several dishes on the it trying to decided which combination I liked best that day.

I gathered stuff together in one of my trays to take to the dining area.

I also decorated the china cabinet, cart and shelves that are also in the dining area.

The Fiesta colors are Scarlet, Cobalt and Lapis.  The white stripe plates are not Fiesta but they are made by the same maker.

The plate under the casserole dish is employee item for Homer Laughlin China Company. It is certificate of completion of some kind of training.  I found it a thrift store along with some Fiesta dishes.
I found the lollipops at Walgreens. I will admit I had to throw them away. They melted and stuck to the glasses.

Wishing you a happy and safe 4th of July!

A New Color to Play With!

The new Fiesta color has been released. I was so excited to walk into the store and see the display.  They are still working on taking out stuff but it looked awesome.  It will work with so many colors. You all know I had to set the table with it as soon as I could. However, it is rather difficult to capture the true color on camera.  There were lots of pictures on Facebook but they all looked different.  My lighting leaves a lot to be desired. I tried opening the shutter doors and turning off the light but that was too dark.  So I turned the light back on and took some more pictures.

The Fiesta colors are Lapis, Chocolate, Lemongrass, Chartreuse and Gray.
What's on your table this week?
I will be joining Cuisine Kathleen for Let's Dish!

Have a great week!

Fiesta and Butterflys

I love to reuse my table items and modify them a bit.  I first used this last year for Easter.  You can see it here.
The flatware is a bit different and the centerpiece is new.  The butterfly was a Christmas gift from a dear friend. The Fiesta colors are Peacock, Shamrock, Vintage Yellow and Green. The tablecloth, napkins and rings are all Vera.

Have a great week!
