First Fall Table of the Season

I have been taking out the fall decorations all week. I was a happy get working on the table even though I resisted. The weather here in the West Texas desert is still HOT.  We were at 94 degrees yesterday and today we hit 90.

I decorated several areas. Here is a cart to the side of the table. I'm sure the pumpkin was meant for votive holders but I'm being creative and using it to display the salt and pepper shakers.

This little dish is Franciscan. It is stamped USA.

I love the detail on this bowl. I saw it for several weeks before I bought it. It was meant to be mine.

It is my favorite of time of the week: Tablescape Thursday over at Between Naps on the Porch. I can't wait to see everyone's tables. Happy Fall every one. Have a great weekend!

Lemon Table

Since I am still not ready for a fall table, I decided to go with a lemon theme. I will be ready next week.  It is hard to think fall when the temps are still in the mid '90s.

My hubby bought me the glassess at Dollar Tree.  The napkin rings are from Bed, Bath and Beyond. I paid $.99 for each of them. The napkins were found at Goodwill. They are handmade. They are all different sizes.

I use these salt cellars(at least that is what I think they are) as a teaspoon rest.
I used the same bread tray from last week for the Splenda and salt and peppers.

The Fiesta colors are in Paprika, Yellow, Sunflower, Tangerine, Persimmon, and Black. My friend, Sam, goes out of town often and she goes to antique and thrift stores. I get rewarded for taking care of her fur babies with dishes.  Not a bad deal! She brought me the black oval platter on her last trip.

I'm joining Susan @ Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday. Please stop by her blog to view everyones beautiful tables.

New To Me Hutch

I went to the Goodwill last week. I rarely look at the furnitures since I don't have anymore room for any. The hubby goes to the back of the store looking for tools. He is the one who saw it and called me to get a look at it.  Funny because he is always asking me where I am going to put my purchases. So we talk about it and decide to wait. During that weekend and the week, we reorganized the garage. We went back on Saturday and it was still there. So we took it as a sign that it was meant to be ours. Our plan worked and I have all my Christmas dishes in one place. It was worth the $24.99 we spent.
One drawer was missing and the other was broken.  We put a piece of wood on the bottom to hold all the Christmas plates.

I am kidding myself that by seeing all my Christmas stuff all year long that I may stop from purchasing any more.  Yeah right. Sorry I didn't take more pictures and the quality. They are all from my cell phone.

I will be linking up with Linda @ Coastal Charm for Nifty Thrifty Tuesday. Be sure to visit her blog to see everyone's thrifty finds this week.

Have a good week.

Not Ready for Fall

Although the temperature has dropped a little and some leaves are starting to fall, I am not ready for fall. I know I can't fight it for long. I have started to move stuff around to accomodate the fall decorations but it is still stacked in the room. I won't have a fall table until the first day of autumn. I want to keep enjoying these cooler summer days.

So the inspiration for this table is the napkin. I found 12 of them at my favorite local thrift store. They have the name Rudi Gernreich on them. I haven't researched the name yet. Does anyone know anything about Rudi Gernreich?

The Fiesta colors are Persimmon, White, Tangerine and Shamrock. The place mats and the licensed Fiesta flat ware were gifts from my friends.  The tangerine bread plate that I am using as a tray was also a gift. The green glasses were a clearance purchase from Dillard's years ago. They are very thin and I have already had one of them break but will continue to use the remaining three. It is all meant to be used.
I want to use the gravy boat for the salad dressing. If only we could agree on the same salad dressing.

It is time for Tablescape Thursday over at Between Naps on the Porch. I can't wait to see everyone's table for the week.
