Daisies and Fiesta

I had these same daises on my 4th of July table.  You can view it here.  I cut them down and used one of my flower frogs to hold them up.  I should have used a small one that would have fit better.  I have  been wanting to use this sauce boat made by Metlox with the matching flowers for a while now.  The pattern is Poppy Trail but I think it looks like daisies. I found it at my favorite local thrift shop. The Fiesta colors are yellow, shamrock, white and vintange green. There are a lot of elements seen on other tables like the goblets and pitcher, napkin rings and place mats.

Here's a closer view of the base. I believe Suan @ Between Naps on the Porch has these dishes.  I would love find a set of them.

I've used different styles of bowls.  I have a ton of bowls so it is hard to justify buying more bowls. The bowl above is the bowl that comes with the place setting. The bowl below is the rice bowl.

I set this table right after the 4th of July. I just haven't been able to post it. I think my posts will cease for the moment as I am about to make one of the hardest decisions of my life: putting my mom in a nursing home.  She fell on Wednesday and is having other issues that are making it hard for my dad to care for her. So please say a little prayer for us.  We are going to need it.

Fiesta and Strawberries

When I started putting this table together, I didn't have the pitcher and I was trying to make some napkin rings using some strawberry ornaments but I did get them done in time.  My hubby purchased the pitcher for me.  There is a an orange and lemon one also.  They would have worked for my citrus table.  You can see that table here. Maybe next year I will have the new pitchers.

I found the place mats and napkins at different Tuesday Morning's on clearance. So the Fiesta colors are Scarlet, Periwinkle and White. The two little strawberry dishes were Goodwill finds.

I hope to link up with Cuisine Kathleen for Let's Dish on time today since I am not working.  Wish me luck.

4th of July 2012

It is time for Seasonal Sundays over at The Tablescaper.  Make sure to stop by her place to see what every one is doing this week.

Here is my 4th of July table for this year.  I'm not sure if we are going to do anything here since it falls in the middle of the week. We went to the Street Festival last night for the concert. Blue Oyster Cult, Kansas and Candlebox performed.  Kansas was awesome.  We missed the first band and the last band was not good.  Hubby was so disappointed. Anyway, we might bring my parent's over if they feel up to it. We will play it by ear.  We have been using the dishes on this table since Saturday.

The Fiesta colors are Scarlet, White and Cobalt.  I'm using my now no longer produced bud vases.  I will miss getting this piece in the new color this year.

The star bowls are Chantal. I found them at a thrift store.  I see that brand at Marshall's a lot.

Have a safe and happy 4th of July.  Don't forget to thank a soldier when you see one.  Prayers for all the soldiers and their families!
