Hen and Roosters

I never thought I would get into so many themes for my tables.

The tablecloth came first. I found it at a thrift store. I liked the colors.  I first used it last year with some other dishes but this time I am using the new Fiesta color Marigold.  The Hen was next. I found her at the Goodwill. She is damaged but I couldn't leave her behind. I found the napkin rings last week at Savers. So I had the table started in my head but then I saw that Shelia at Note Songs was having a party and I had to join in on the fun. Please visit to her blog to see everyone else's Roos and Chicks.

Can you say Ice cream tablescape?

The day started at an estate sale. Everything was extremely overpriced so I headed to my favorite thrift store.  They have a huge variety of dishes and napkins which is what I go for.  I found the three sugar cone bowls for $3.99. I saw a similar waffle cone cup at Pier 1 for $.699. I found 7 of them for $9.99.  I was thrilled.  The idea for the ice cream tablescape comes from the The Tablescaper's (http://www.thetablescaper.blogspot.com)  Ice Cream social that she created for her kids.  I want to do something similar for my nieces.

A Table for Becky

One of my blogging buddies crossed over this past week. Becky Turner's blog is Random Musings of a Deco Lady. She fought a difficult battle with MDS (myelodysplacia) all the time with a positve attitude. She shared her battle, family events, recipes and tablescapes.  She always took the time to explain the history of the theme of the tablescape or recipe.

She is one of two people that I know of that have battled MDS.  My BFF's husband crossed over in March of this year.  I guess that is why I am taking Ms. Becky's passing with a very heavy heart.

She was my first follower on my blog. She encouraged me to continue and to join a message board of HLC collectors. Her favorite dishes were Harlequin in blue. My dishes are Fiesta by the same maker. This is my tribute to Ms. Becky.

Art Deco was a favorite of Becky's. This hostess bowl has that art deco feel.
