I was inspired by another Fiesta collector, Candy @ The Little Round Table, to recreate this table. She was trying to redeem the Periwinkle color as some collectors do not like it have an alternate name for it.
I've used these dishes with different place mats and napkins. The Fiesta colors are Periwinkle and Cobalt.
The goblets were given to me by my aunt who got me started setting a pretty table. The other glassess were a Tuesday Morning find years ago with my mom.
The cut glass bowl was my moms and the vase filler marbles were a perfect match to the table. The idea for putting the votive holders on the Fiesta candle holders came from another Fiesta collector.

It's amazing how many different looks can be gotten with Fiestaware. How clever of you to use the marbles as a complement to all the other elements on your table.

ReplyDeleteOK...I don't get it. I think periwinkle is a beautiful color. The way you've paired it up with a darker cobalt makes it even prettier. Is it something about the fact that it isn't a really bright color like a lot of the Fiestaware I see around? This is a color that is unusual and therefore desirable in my book! I can remember wearing a pair of periwinkle shoes almost into the ground before letting them go! LOVE that color! I think it would pair nicely with a deep gray, too!!!

ReplyDeleteI am always amazed at how you can make so many beautiful tablescapes with just using fiesta dishes. Some elegant., festive ,whimsical,, colorful just a few. I very seldom run into any fiesta although many years ago I had a set of different colors but sold them to a dealer when they became popular.
ReplyDeleteI'm one of those people who thinks that a cupboard full of fiesta is like a cupboard of creativity. There is just no end to the things you can do. I hadn't heard that folks didn't like the periwinkle. I love it on you table, and you proved that it's a keeper! I love the idea of the marbles on the table, too.
