A Beach Challenge

I am joing Cuisine Kathleen for Let's Dish.  This week came with a challenge: a beach theme.  I created one last year and was pretty proud of myself for it.  You can view it here.  Be sure to visit Kathleen to see how every set their beach table.

I wanted/needed this table to be different. It helped that I received new napkin rings.  I was hoping to have my new Flamingo Fiesta plates but they haven't made it here yet.  So I used my Rose, White and Chocolate Fiesta.  I think it worked out anyway.  The plate under the bowl is Harlequin (same maker as Fiesta). I found it at Savers for $2.99.

My picture doesn't do it justice but the shell has a soft pink/coral hue to it.  This is why I wanted to match it with the new Fiesta color Flamingo.

I used some of the same elements in my Tropical table but I think they work just as well here.

Have a great rest of the week.

****EDIT****

Flamingo has arrived.  Here is a side by side comparison of Flamingo and Rose(was used on the table).  One picture is with the flash. Several collectors who are better photographers has mentioned that it is a difficult color to photograph and changes depending on the lighting.  When I saw it at the store for the first time all I could think was that it looked exactly like Rose but now looking at them side by side I can see the difference. Flamingo is on the left and Rose is on the right.  The first pic is with the flash and the second is without.

Can you see the difference? Do you like it? Do you think this beach table would have looked better with Flamingo (as if the name alone would have added enough)?

    1. I wish we had a Belks or any other dept stores. Only Macys, Dillards and Kohls carry Fiesta in the store but with very limited pieces. Thank you for stopping by.

  3. Hi, Monica! Doesn't that just burn your biscuits when you're waiting on something to come that just doesn't do it in time? I have all but given up on most places getting my stuff to me! Amazon.com is one of the biggest offenders where books are concerned. I wish they wouldn't advertise them until they are actually available. They get our hopes up just to deflate them! You did a great job on this table even without your Flamingo Fiesta plates, though! What says "beach" more than coral??? The colors you used along with it are just beachy peachy, and your napkin rings are the hot diggity bomb!!! Good job! Have a wonderful, relaxing weekend!!!

  5. Monica, You did a great job on your tablescape. I look forward to seeing the new fiesta flamingo color. The placemats go perfectly for a beach theme and the shells and shell napkin rings pull it all together. Cute palm trees in your centerpiece and I agree the coral color is always a beach color.

I added a picture of the shell napkins rings you sent me on my hydrangeas and shell post. I was able to link to Kathleen's party from my son's house. Thank you again for the great shell napkin rings. I love them.

    1. Thank you. I'm missing a few colors if you can believe it. I dream about finding vintage pieces, Sapphire and Lilac at my favorite thrift store.

  7. Your beach inspired table is so pretty! The rose plates are perfect because they give the table that beachy coral color. I love the palm trees!

Funny you should mention Fiesta Flamingo. My sister & I were just fawning over the color this afternoon when we saw it at Kohls.
