Monogram Table

It time to share what's on the table with Cuisine Kathleen for Let's Dish!

With all the tablescaping goodies I have recieved, I have been playing with my dishes alot.  I have setting up the tables. This one evolved over several days. I will set it again for our anniversary I'm sure.

The gifts on this table are from my friend Ruby.  She gifted me the runner and the handpainted monogram plates created by her and her daughter.

This was one option but I really wanted to use my tassle napkin rings that I found at Goodwill several years ago.  They were new in the box and were originally sold at Dillard's.

But then I found the "V" and had to use these.
Which option do you like best?

I used my square Fiesta dinner plates in Lemongrass to add a splash of color.

The Diamond Point glasses were a thrift store find and the other glasses were found at Dollar Tree.  I really like the glasses from there since most are Libbey, and like Fiesta, are made in the USA.

My centerpiece is a clearance purchase from Dillard's.  I have a thing for tier trays I don't know why.

The Fiesta presentation is another one of my favorite pieces as is the pitcher. Finding this pitcher was a fluke as the Dillard's here does not carry black.  The sales clerk thinks someone returned it either after receiving it as a gift or purchasing on-line.

I found the salt and pepper shakers at Saver's.  They were under lock and key.

The crystal candle holders were from Goodwill.

I hope you are having a great week. Please stop by at Kathleen's blog to see what everyone has created for their table this week.

A Beach Challenge

I am joing Cuisine Kathleen for Let's Dish.  This week came with a challenge: a beach theme.  I created one last year and was pretty proud of myself for it.  You can view it here.  Be sure to visit Kathleen to see how every set their beach table.

I wanted/needed this table to be different. It helped that I received new napkin rings.  I was hoping to have my new Flamingo Fiesta plates but they haven't made it here yet.  So I used my Rose, White and Chocolate Fiesta.  I think it worked out anyway.  The plate under the bowl is Harlequin (same maker as Fiesta). I found it at Savers for $2.99.

My picture doesn't do it justice but the shell has a soft pink/coral hue to it.  This is why I wanted to match it with the new Fiesta color Flamingo.

I used some of the same elements in my Tropical table but I think they work just as well here.

Have a great rest of the week.

****EDIT****

Flamingo has arrived.  Here is a side by side comparison of Flamingo and Rose(was used on the table).  One picture is with the flash. Several collectors who are better photographers has mentioned that it is a difficult color to photograph and changes depending on the lighting.  When I saw it at the store for the first time all I could think was that it looked exactly like Rose but now looking at them side by side I can see the difference. Flamingo is on the left and Rose is on the right.  The first pic is with the flash and the second is without.

Can you see the difference? Do you like it? Do you think this beach table would have looked better with Flamingo (as if the name alone would have added enough)?

Citrus Fiesta for Father's Day 2012

I am linking up with The Tablescaper for Seasonal Sundays. Please stop by her amazing blog. You will enjoy your visit.

I called my first "citrus" table a lemon table because it started with the glasses.  You can view it here. It was a Fall version so here is the Summer version.

New items include the orange bowls(thrift store) and the wreath(estate sale) on the top tier of my two tiered tray.  I have to keep it simple since it is for Father's Day.  My dad doesn't like the table overcrowded.  I think he has some anxiety when he comes to my house with all the stuff I have.  He hates to use the glass and the napkin. Do you have people who don't want to use your table so as not to mess it up? Or think you went to too much trouble? Or ask you why you don't use paper plates?  That is the worst for me.  I hide the papertowels when one of my friends comes over for dinner.  She says she feels bad using the cloth napkin.

But for purposes of "playing" with my dishes, I did put three glasses on the table.  I removed two on every one's place setting leaving the small one for my mom so she can carry it.  The green goblets along with the pitcher were a gift from one of my friends.  My hubby gave me the lemon glasses last year for my birthday.  They along with the black glasses are from Dollar Tree. I'm thinking I need two more of the black glasses before they are gone.

They day went well overall.  Both parents ate well.  I can't ask for more than that.

Have a good week.  Thanks for stopping by.

Tropical Fiesta

I will be linking up with Cusine Kathleen for Let's Dish!

I've created a couple of versions of this table also.  You can see last years version here. The centerpiece and napkins are different.  I posted a picture of this on Facebook also and tagged my friends who gifted me something that is on this table.  My friend Martha gave me the palm tree candle holders. My friend Ana gave me the Fiesta flatware and my friend Michelle sent me the place mats and the bowls.  I am blessed to have friends who help me with my hobby. The glasses are from my hubby's collection.

The Fiesta colors are Juniper, Shamrock, Yellow, Persimmon, and Marigold.  .

The Juniper salad plate are a Fiesta color but are called Fiesta 2000. They have a bambo design on them

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a great week!!

Fiesta Blues

I am going to join Cuisine Kathleen for Let's Dish.  Be sure to visit and those that link to see what the table talk of the day is.
I was inspired by another Fiesta collector, Candy @ The Little Round Table, to recreate this table.  She was trying to redeem the Periwinkle color as some collectors do not like it have an alternate name for it.

I've used these dishes with different place mats and napkins.  The Fiesta colors are Periwinkle and Cobalt.

The goblets were given to me by my aunt who got me started setting a pretty table. The other glassess were a Tuesday Morning find years ago with my mom.
This one of my favorite Fiesta bowls.

The cut glass bowl was my moms and the vase filler marbles were a perfect match to the table.  The idea for putting the votive holders on the Fiesta candle holders came from another Fiesta collector.

Here are some details on what's on the table.
Flatware Target/gift
Napkins-thrift store
Napkin Rings- Kohls
Placemats and marbles-gift

Thanks for stopping! Have a good rest of the week.

Where Do I Keep It All?

It is the question I am asked often.  There is no bettter time to show where I store some of my tablescaping goodies than to link up with The Tablescaper to help celebrate her Third Blog-a-versary on her weekly blog party: Seasonal Sundays.  Now the linens, flatware and glasses can each have their own post but  I will try to show a little of everything.
I must feature some of my bowls since I have so many. These are used on a daily basis.  The cart was purchased at an estate sale.  My hubby did an amazing of cleaning it up.

This is where the dish washer used to be.  We couldn't replace it so my dad built me some shelves.  I would like to paint the rest of the cabinets the same color. There is a curtain that usually has them covered.
This bookcase is in the dining area.  It is a partial transitional spot when changing the table or for the season.

Here is the pantry in the kitchen. We took off the accoridan doors.  The right side was wasted space but my dad came to the rescue again and built me more shelves.  The bottom doesnt have anything photo worry.

This is the guest bedroom.  This nook was wasted space so Dad built me more shelves.  Aside from the dishes there are also some of my child hood toys. Even as a child I loved dishes. You can see mini tea sets and my little refrigerator.

Here is the first closet in this room.  Again more shelves were added. My dream is to have the shelves go across the entire closet.  I need to find a home for the Christmas stuff that is on the right side first.

The bins have napkins, candles, Christmas napkin rings, and seasonal itmes.

This is the second closet in this room.  The tablecloths have to share the space with some clothes.  I will admit that I have given a lot of clothes away to make more room for the cloths.
This chest of drawers in the guest bedroom has my place mats and some of the napkin rings.

So there you have it. This is just some my dishe storage.  I still have plenty to share for next year's party. Be sure to visit The Tablescaper to view where everyones had their goodies stored.

Have a great week. Thanks for stopping by.
