My mom and dads wedding announcement

I received a phone call from my cousin Carmen earlier this evening. She called to tell me that she and her sibilings have cleaning out my aunt's home. In a box marked "my personal things" was my parent's wedding announcement from the newspaper. I didn't know that this existed. My neighbor told me that back then when someone got a marriage license it would automatically show up in the newspaper. I was so excited I think I screamed. My mom is not a mushy or sentimental person so it doesn't surprise me that she didn't think to save a copy. Hopefully I will get to pick it up next weekend.

better day

Today has been a good day. My parents were here again and my mom was very alert. We went thru pictures and knew who most of the people were. We made Rachael Ray's Italian Nachos. I served them on Heather oval trays. They were good and I have lunch for tomorrow. I didn't get a chance to remove the Fiesta icon tablecloth and use some purple place mats. My parents don't understand. My dad refuses to use a glass. He driks straight from the can. Just saw the fires in CA. Need to make some calls.

summers end

I am not ready for summer to end. I am not ready for shorter days. I am not looking forward to the holidays either. I do want to take out my Christmas dishes. We didn't even put the big tree up last year not sure I want to put it up this year either. I feel down and it's due to my mom's health. Her memory is getting worse every day. I think she had another TIA (mini stroke). I am going to make an appointment with a neurologist.

Sunday Drive

We drove thru the nearby farming towns of Socorro, San Elizario and Clint. It was great to see all the cotton and pecan fields. We stopped at Licon Dairy Farm. We bought Asadero cheese and tortillas. We ate them in the car. It was so good. They have a mini zoo. We saw donkeys, llamas, a camel, roosters, deer, a turkey, longhorns, rams, buffalo and peacocks. I got some pictures but too bad I can't load them. It was a nice afternoon.

Favorite Fiesta colors and combinations

My favorite colors are Persimmon ad Turquoise. They the first colors I purchased. Yellow, Rose and Chocolate are my other favorites. I like to use different color combinations. For Easter this yearI used Rose and Gray.When Chocolate came out, combined it with Rose and Turquoise. I've combined the blues together. The next combination I want bring out are all the greens. Again, I wish I could post pictures.
