Pretty in Green

I found these dishes at my favorite local thrift. I found the dinner plates one week and the salad/soup bowls the following week.  My dad purchased the dinner plates for me. That is odd for me because he is always complaining that I have too many dishes. He dislikes when I crowd the table. The following week after we purchased the dinner plates, I went back as usual. I was in line to pay for something else.  I spotted them on the counter but didn't know what they were and I thought they belonged to the customer standing by the counter.  As the line moved on the bowls stayed on the counter. When I got the bowls and saw that they matched my plates,I snatched them immediately.  I got six bowls for $4.99 and 10 dinner plates for $9.99. They are not the usual Fiesta I normally use but they are made by Homer Laughlin. They are stamped Nautilus. There is another stamp in gold that says Lifetime China Co. semi-vitreous, Aliance, Ohio and Jade Rose. The gold trim is still intact on both the bowls and plates. I still need to work on researching them.

The candle stick holders are Lenox and I found them at a thrift store also.  The small green tea light holders were found at Goodwill for $.50.

The green glasses were a gift from a friend who fuels my addition to dishes.  The ice tea goblets were a wedding gift.

We had Italian Nachos and salad for dinner.

Tables Missed

I have been tablescaping but I haven't been able to post. Things seem to be getting back to normal and I have better Internet service. I don't think I can make an individual post of the all the tables I have created so I am sharing them all on this post.

The first table posted was for Valentine's Day.  I used my Fired King lace charges, Fiesta in Rose and Johnson Bros.(don't know the name of the pattern). The ice tea and champagne glasses were wedding gifts.  The pink glasses were an estate sale find. The napkin rings were a clearance find at Kohl's.

This next table was also for Valentine's Day. My parents came over the Sunday before. Fiesta is Scarlet and the Diner collection from Homer Laughlin. I had to hide the cake before my parents arrived because if my mom had seen it she would not have eaten lunch.

The next table was my Mardi Gras table. Fiesta in Marigold, Shamrock and Plum.The napkin rings, table cloth, wine glasses and beads were found at a thrift store. I borrowed the flat ware from a friend. You will see it again on my next two tables that will be on future posts. The glasses were a gift as were the napkins.

There were a few others that I didn't photograph. I hope you enjoy these. I plan to continue to blog. I have the next two tables ready to go.

Turquoise for Christmas

The inspiration for this table was the napkin and a blogging friend name Becky who recently crossed over. She created a Valentine's Day table using Scarlet, Turquoise and Rose on her amazing blog Random Musings of  Deco Lady. I'm sorry but I still haven't learned how to add a link(update: Thanks to Bonnie at Living with Thanksgiving, I know how to add a link. Be sure to stop by her blog as she is having a give away.). I had been thinking of this table for a while. I would have imagined talking to Becky about it. It is a bit non-traditional but it works.

The Fiesta colors are Scarlet, Turquoise, Gray and White. The napkin was a clearance purchase at World Market. I believe I purchased them for $.49 each. The bowl in the center was a gift from my nephew's fiancee (he would say he it is from him too). When she gave it to me, she apologized for it not being made in the USA. It made me laugh because there is someone listening to me preach about my Fiesta that is made here in the USA. So anyway, the bowl is glass and made in Turkey. It is one of my favorites and has a place all year long in the living room.
